Hadith 10:1042
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Habib, from ‘Amr, who said: Jabir ibn Zayd was asked about a man when he emancipates his slave-woman while he is healthy: She shall observe an ‘idda (waiting period) of three menstrual cycles if she menstruates. If she does not menstruate, then her ‘idda is three months, if someone other than him marries her.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا يزيد بن هارون عن حبيب عن عمرو قال سئل جابر بن زيد عن الرجل إذا أعتق سريته وهو صحيح اعتدت ثلاثة قروء إن كانت تحيض فإن لم تكن تحيض فعدتها ثلاثة أشهر إن تزوجها غيره
