Hadith 10:1180
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Isma’il bin Abi Khalid, from al-Hakam, that Abu Kanaf divorced his wife and did not inform her, then he called witnesses to her return (to the marriage). He said: So ‘Umar said to him, "If you reach her before she marries (someone else), then you are more entitled to her."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا وكيع عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن الحكم أن أبا كنف طلق امرأته ولم يعلمها فأشهد على رجعتها قال فقال له عمر إن أدركتها قبل أن تتزوج فانت أحق بها
