Hadith 10:1209
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Kathir ibn Hisham narrated to us, from Ja'far ibn Burqan, he said: I heard al-Hakam say: I heard Sa'id ibn Jubayr [being asked] about the woman whose husband died while he was absent: From when does she observe the waiting period? He said: From the day her husband died, she observes the waiting period when the evidence is established. And if she is divorced, it is the same as that.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا كثير بن هشام عن جعفر بن برقان قال سمعت الحكم يقول سمعت سعيد بن جبير [ سئل ] عن المتوفى عنها زوجها وهو غائب من أين تعتد قال من يوم مات زوجها تعتد إذا قامت البينة وإذا طلقت مثل ذلك
