Hadith 10:1214
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Dawud, from Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib and al-Sha’bi, they both said: If the evidence is established, then the waiting period (iddah) is from the day he dies. And if it is not established, then [it is from] the day the news reaches her.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا أبو خالد الأحمر عن داود عن سعيد بن المسيب والشعبي قالا إذا قامت البينة فالعدة من يوم يموت وإن لم تقم فيوم ياتيها الخبر
