Hadith 10:1215
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Bard, from Makhul, regarding a man who divorces [his wife] or dies while he is absent. He said: If a just testimony is established, she observes her waiting period from the day he dies. Otherwise, [she observes it] from the day the news reaches her.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا الثقفي عن برد عن مكحول في الرجل يطلق أو يموت وهو غائب قال إن قامت بينة عادلة إذا اعتدت من يوم يموت وإلا فمن يوم يأتيها الخبر
