Hadith 10:1251
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Layth, from Mujahid, who said: [A woman asked him], and she said: "I am a perfume-selling woman, and my husband has died." So he forbade her and said: "Do not apply kohl unless it is out of necessity."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا حفص عن ليث عن مجاهد قال [ سألته إمرأة ] فقالت إني امراة عطارة وإن زوجي قد مات فنهاها وقال لا تكتحلي إلا من ضرورة
