Hadith 10:1296
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah bin Numayr narrated to us, he said: Ubaydullah bin Umar narrated to us, from Nafi’, who said: Umar wrote to the commanders of the armies regarding those who were absent from their wives among the people of Medina. He ordered them to return to their wives, or else to divorce them, or to send the maintenance. Whoever among them divorces, let him send the maintenance for what he left behind.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عبد الله بن نمير قال نا عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع قال كتب عمر إلى امراء الأجناد فيمن غاب عن نسائه من أهل المدينة فأمرهم أن يرجعوا إلى نسائهم إما أن يفارقوا وإما أن يبعثوا بالنفقة فمن فارق منهم فليبعث بنفقة ما ترك
