Hadith 10:1318
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abbad bin al-Awwam narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Sha'bi, that Umm al-Banin bint Uyaynah bin Hisn was married to Uthman bin Affan. When he was besieged, he divorced her, and he had sent to her [to buy from her] her share (of the dowry/inheritance), but she refused. When he was killed, she came to Ali and mentioned that to him. He said: "He left her until, when he was on the verge of death, he divorced her, so he made her an heir."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عباد بن العوام عن أشعث عن الشعبي أن أم البنين بنت عيينة بن حصن كانت تحت عثمان بن عفان فلما حصر طلقها وقد كان أرسل إليها [ يشتري منها ] ثمنها فأبت فلما قتل أتت عليا فذكرت ذلك له فقال تركها حتى إذا أشرف على الموت طلقها فورثها
