Hadith 10:1361
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sharik narrated to us, from Jabir, from 'Amir, regarding a man who said to his wife, "You are not lawful for me." He said: "His intention [is what matters]. If he intended one [divorce], then it is one; and if he intended three, then it is three."
