Hadith 10:1397
19121. Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from ‘Ali ibn al-Mubarak, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Sulayman ibn Abi Maymunah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and her husband had divorced her, and she wanted to take her child. He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Draw lots for him." The man said: "Who will come between me and my son?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to the son: "Choose whichever of the two you wish." He said: So he chose his mother, and she went away with him.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا وكيع عن علي بن مبارك عن يحيى بن أبي [ كثير عن سليمان بن أبي ميمونة ] عن أبي هريرة قال جاءت امرأة إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وقد طلقها زوجها فأرادت أن تأخذ ولدها قال فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم استهما فيه فقال الرجل من يحول بيني وبين ابني فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم للابن اختر أيهما شئت قال فاختار أمه فذهبت به
