Hadith 10:1403
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Yunus ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Rabi'ah, from 'Amarah ibn Rabi'ah al-Jurmi, who said: My father went on a military expedition toward the sea in some of those expeditions and was killed. My paternal uncle came to take me, so my mother disputed with him before 'Ali. He said: And I had a small brother with me. He said: 'Ali gave me the choice three times, and I chose my mother. My uncle refused to be satisfied, so 'Ali poked him with his hand and struck him with his whip and said: "And this one also has reached the age of choice."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عباد بن العوام عن يونس بن عبد الله بن ربيعة عن عمارة بن ربيعة الجرمي قال غزا أبي نحو البحر في بعض تلك المغازي فقتل فجاء عمي ليذهب بي فخاصمته أمي إلى علي قال ومعي أخ لي صغير قال فخيرني علي ثلاثا فاخترت أمي فأبى عمي أن يرضى فوكزه علي بيده وضربه بدرته وقال وهذا أيضا قد بلغ خيرا
