Hadith 10:1407
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from Khasif, from al-Sha'bi, regarding a man who said to his wife, "By Allah, I will surely cause you grief." He said: If he meant by that a woman he would marry or a slave girl he would take as a concubine, then it is nothing. And if he meant sexual intercourse, then it is an oath of abstention (ila').
