Hadith 10:1549
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, from Rukayn, from Nu’aym ibn Hanzalah, who said: Jarir ibn Abdullah arrived to Umar and complained to him about what he encountered from the women regarding their bad character. He said: So Umar said, "I encounter the same as you encounter from them. I go," he said, "to the market or to the people to buy from them a beast or a garment, and the woman says, 'He only went to look at their young girls or to propose to them.'" He said: So Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said, "Do you not know that Ibrahim complained about a flaw in the character of Sarah? So Allah revealed to him, 'She is only from a rib; so take the rib and straighten it. If it straightens, then [it is well], and if not, then bear with her despite what is in her.'"
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عبيدة بن حميد عن ركين عن نعيم بن حنظلة قال قدم جرير بن عبد الله على عمر فشكا إليه ما يلقى من النساء من سوء أخلاقهن قال فقال عمر إني القى مثل ما تلقى منهن إني لآتي قال السوق أو الناس أشتري منهم الدابة أو الثوب فتقول المرأة إنما انطلق ينظر إلى فتياتهم أو يخطب إليهم قال فقال عبد الله بن مسعود أو ما تعلم ان شكا إبراهيم من درء في خلق سارة فأوحى الله إليه إنما هي من ضلع فخذ الضلع فأقمه فإن استقام وإلا فالبسها على ما فيها
