Hadith 10:155
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Affan bin Muslim narrated to us, he said: Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, he said: Ayyub narrated to us, from Ibrahim bin Maysarah, that Tawus said: Abu al-Sahba’ came to Ibn Abbas and said: "Bring forth from your matters; were not the three [divorces] counted as one during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Abu Bakr, and the beginning of the caliphate of Umar?" He said: "Yes." Then, when Umar saw that the people had become excessive in divorce, he permitted it against them.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عفان بن مسلم قال نا حماد بن زيد قال نا أيوب عن إبراهيم بن ميسرة أن طاوسا قال جاء أبو الصهباء إلى بن عباس فقال هات من هناتك إن الثلاث كن يحسبن على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأبي بكر وصدر إمارة عمر واحدة قال بلى فلما رأى عمر الناس قد تتابعوا في الطلاق فأجازهن عليه
