Hadith 10:1562
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Fudayl and Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Nafi', from Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubayd, that she heard Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, narrating that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "It is not lawful for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to observe mourning for a dead person for more than three [days], except for a husband."
