Hadith 10:21
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu ‘Amir al-‘Aqadi narrated to us, from ‘Abd al-Hakim ibn Abi Farwah, who said: I heard ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz saying: "What is the matter with men, that one of them says [to his wife], 'Go to your family,' and then divorces her among her family?" He forbade that with the severest of prohibitions. ‘Abd al-Hakim said: He means by that the *‘iddah* (waiting period).
