Hadith 10:290

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abbad ibn al-Awwam narrated to us, from Umar ibn Amir, from Hammad, from Ibrahim, regarding a man who said, "My wife is divorced," while he had three wives. He said: If he intended one of them specifically, then she is the one he intended. And if he did not intend any of them specifically, then he may choose whichever of them he wishes. The same applies to *ila* (vow of abstinence) and *zihar* (likening one's wife to the back of one's mother).

حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا عباد بن العوام عن عمر بن عامر عن حماد عن إبراهيم في رجل قال امرأته طالق وله ثلاث نسوة فقال إن كان نوى منهن شيئا فهي التي نوى وإن لم يكن نوى منهن شيئا فليختر أيتهن شاء وكذلك الايلاء والظهار
