Hadith 10:424
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Isma'il bin 'Ayyash narrated to us, from Yahya bin Sa'id, from Abu Bakr bin Muhammad bin 'Amr bin Hazm, he said: 'Umar bin 'Abd al-'Aziz said: "O Abu Bakr, what do the people say about 'al-battah' (the irrevocable divorce)?" I said to him: "Aban bin 'Uthman used to consider it one [divorce]." 'Umar said: "If the divorce were a thousand, 'al-battah' would not leave anything of it. Whoever says 'al-battah' has cast the ultimate limit."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا إسماعيل بن عياش عن يحيى بن سعيد عن أبي بكر بن محمد بن عمرو بن حزم قال قال عمر بن عبد العزيز يا أبا بكر البته ما يقول الناس فيها فقلت له كان أبان بن عثمان يجعلها واحدة فقال عمر لو كان الطلاق ألفا ما أبقت البتة منه شيئا من قال البتة فقد رمى بالغاية القصوى
