Hadith 10:490
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-A’la narrated to us, from Sa’id, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Zayd ibn Thabit, who said: If he gifts her to her family and they accept it, then it is three [pronouncements of divorce], and she is not lawful for him until she marries a husband other than him. And if they reject it, then it is one [pronouncement of divorce], and he has more right to her. And al-Hasan used to adopt this [ruling].
