Hadith 10:744
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Shu’bah, from al-Hakam, from Khaythama, who said: Bashir ibn Marwan was brought a case regarding a *khul’* (divorce initiated by the wife) that was between a man and his wife, and he did not permit it. ‘Abdullah ibn Shihab al-Khawlani said to him: I witnessed ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab being brought a case regarding a *khul’* that was between a man and his wife, and he permitted it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا وكيع عن شعبة عن الحكم عن خيثمة قال أتى بشير بن مروان في خلع كان بين رجل وامرأة فلم يجزه فقال له عبد الله بن شهاب الخولاني شهدت عمر بن الخطاب أتي في خلع كان بين رجل وامرأته فاجازه
