Hadith 10:847
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Jarir narrated to us, from Mughira, from al-Sha'bi, who said: If a man swears an oath of abstention (*ila'*) from his wife, he is to be stopped before four months have passed. It is said to him: "Fear Allah; either you return [to her], or you divorce [her] with a recognized divorce."
