Hadith 10:885
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Salim, from al-Sha’bi, from Ali, Ibn Mas’ud, and Ibn Abbas, who said: "The *fay’* (the return/reconciliation in an oath of abstinence) is sexual intercourse." Ibn Mas’ud said: "If he has an ailment due to old age, illness, or imprisonment that prevents him from sexual intercourse, then his *fay’* is that he returns with his heart and his tongue."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا يزيد بن هارون عن محمد بن سالم عن الشعبي عن علي وبن مسعود وبن عباس قالوا الفيء الجماع وقال بن مسعود فإن كان به علة من كبر أو مرض أو حبس يحول بينه وبين الجماع فإن فيئه أن يفيء بقلبه ولسانه
