Hadith 10:910
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Habib, from Amr ibn Haram, who said: Jabir ibn Zayd was asked about a man who abandoned his wife, and four months passed. He said: She does not become unlawful to him unless he swore by Allah that he would not touch her and would not reconcile with her. If he swore to that and did not retract until four months passed, then she has become separated from him, and this is the *ila* (oath of abstention).
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا يزيد بن هارون عن حبيب عن عمرو بن هرم قال سئل جابر بن زيد عن رجل هجر امراته فمضت أربعة أشهر قال لا تحرم عليه إلا أن يكون أقسم بالله لا يمسها ولا يصالحها فإن أقسم على ذلك ولم يراجع حتى تمضي أربعة اشهر فقد بانت منه وهي الآلية
