Hadith 10:920
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Awn, from Muhammad, he said: They used to say, or talk about, *al-ila’* (the oath of abstinence), that when four months have passed, it is a *ba’in* (irrevocable) divorce, and he may propose to her during her waiting period if he wishes. Ibn ‘Awn said: So I said to Muhammad, "Amir says: He may propose to her during her waiting period, but no one else may propose to her." He said: "Amir spoke the truth."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا أبو أسامة عن بن عون عن محمد قال كانوا يقولون أو يتحدثون في الايلاء إذا مضت أربعة أشهر فهي تطليقة بائنة ويخطبها في عدتها إن شاء قال بن عون فقلت لمحمد أن عامرا يقول يخطبها في عدتها ولا يخطبها غيره قال صدق عامر
