Hadith 15:108
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Affan narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahid ibn Safwan narrated to us, he said: I heard my father narrating from his mother that she said: I used to soak raisins for Uthman in the morning, and he would drink it in the evening. And I would soak them for him in the evening, and he would drink it in the morning. Uthman said to her: "Perhaps you are putting *zahw* (unripe dates) in it?" She said: "Sometimes I do that." He said: "Do not do that."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا عبد الواحد بن صفوان قال سمعت أبي يحدث عن أمه أنها قالت كنت أمغث لعثمان الزبيب غدوة فيشربه عشية وأمغثه عشية فيشربه غدوة فقال لها عثمان لعلك تجعلين فيه زهوا قالت ربما فعلت قال فلا تفعلي
