Hadith 15:141
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abda bin Sulayman narrated to us, from Yahya bin Sa'id, from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib, that a group from Thaqif met Umar bin al-Khattab while he was near Mecca. He asked them for their nabidh (fermented drink), so they brought him a vessel of nabidh. He brought it near his mouth, then he called for water and poured it over it twice or three times. Then he said: "Break it with water."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان عن يحيى بن سعيد عن سعيد بن المسيب أن قوما من ثقيف لقوا عمر بن الخطاب وهو قريب من مكة فدعاهم بأنبذتهم فأتوه بقدح من نبيذ فقربه من فيه ثم دعا بماء فصبه عليه مرتين أو ثلاثا فقال اكسروه بالماء
