Hadith 15:152
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali bin Mushir narrated to us, from al-Shaybani, from Abd al-Malik, who said: I asked Ibn Umar about strong nabidh (fermented drink). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was sitting in a gathering in Makkah, and a man came to him and sat by his side. He smelled a strong odor from him, so he said: "What is this that you have drunk?" He said: "Nabidh." He said: "Bring some of it." He said: So he called for water and poured it over it and drank. Then he said: "When it becomes potent (intoxicating), give it to you to drink, so break it with water."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا علي بن مسهر عن الشيباني عن عبد الملك قال سألت بن عمر عن النبيذ الشديد فقال جلس رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مجلسا بمكة فجاءه رجل فجلس إلى جنبه فوجد منه ريحا شديدة فقال ما هذا الذي شربت فقال نبيذ فقال جىء منه قال فدعا بماء فصبه عليه وشرب ثم قال إذا اغتلمت أسقيتكم فاكسروها بالماء
