Hadith 15:164
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ubaydah ibn Humayd narrated to us, from Abu Miskin, from Hudhayl ibn Shurahbil, who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab passed by Thaqif and asked them for water to drink. They said, "Hide your nabidh (fermented drink)," and they gave him water to drink. He said, "Give me to drink from your nabidh, O company of Thaqif." He said: So they gave him to drink. He ordered the servant, so he poured, then he held it with his hand. Then he said, "O company of Thaqif, you drink from this strong drink, so whoever among you is suspicious of anything in his drink, let him break it with water."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عبيدة بن حميد عن أبي مسكين عن هذيل بن شرحبيل قال مر عمر بن الخطاب على ثقيف فاستسقاهم فقالوا أخبؤا نبيذكم فسقوه ماء فقال اسقوني من نبيذكم يا معشر ثقيف قال فسقوه فأمر الغلام فصب ثم أمسك بيده ثم قال يا معشر ثقيف إنكم تشربون من هذا الشراب الشديد فأيكم رابه من شرابه شيء فليكسره بالماء
