Hadith 15:199
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sahl ibn Yusuf narrated to us, from Humayd al-Tawil, from Uqbah ibn Maysarah, who said: We were with Ma’qil ibn Yasar, and he called for food, so we ate. Then a vessel of nabidh (fermented drink) was brought to us, and he drank and we drank. When it reached a son of his, he refused to drink. Ma’qil took a staff that was with him and struck his head with it, wounding him. Then he said to him: "Do you do such and such?"—and he mentioned some of his bad deeds—"and you refuse to drink from a drink that your father and your paternal uncles drank, because it is nabidh of a jar?"
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن حميد الطويل عن عقبة بن ميسرة قال كنا عند معقل بن يسار فدعا بطعام فأكلنا ثم اتينا بقدح من نبيذ فشرب وشربنا حتى انتهى إلى بن له فأبى أن يشرب فأخذ معقل عصى كانت عنده فضرب بها رأسه فشجه ثم قال له أتفعل كذا وكذا وذكر من مساوئه وتأبى أن تشرب من شراب شربه أبوه وعمومته لأنه نبيذ جر
