Hadith 15:270
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Yahya ibn Abi ‘Umar, who said: *Talā'* (a type of thickened grape juice/syrup) was mentioned in the presence of Ibn ‘Abbas, and they mentioned its boiling. Ibn ‘Abbas said: "Fire does not make anything lawful, nor does it make anything unlawful, because its beginning was lawful."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن فضيل عن الأعمش عن يحيى بن أبي عمر قال ذكر عند بن عباس الطلاء وذكروا طبخه فقال بن عباس إن النار لا تحل شيئا ولا تحرمه لأن أوله كان حلالا
