Hadith 15:291
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from Thabit ibn Ubayd, he said: Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari used to command his family to cut the *mudhnib* (the stalk/tip) from the *busr* (unripe dates), and each of them would be steeped separately.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عبد الرحيم عن أشعث عن ثابت بن عبيد قال كان أبو مسعود الأنصاري يأمر أهله بقطع المذنب من البسر فينبذ كل واحد منهما على حدة
