Hadith 15:351
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa’id, from al-Nu’man ibn Abi ‘Ayyash, who said: I was sent to ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar to ask him which of the major sins is the greatest. He said: "Alcohol." So we sent the messenger back to him, and he said: "Alcohol; for whoever drinks it, no prayer of his will be accepted for seven [days]. If he becomes intoxicated, no prayer of his will be accepted for forty days. And if he dies, he dies the death of the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah)."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن عيينة عن يحيى بن سعيد عن النعمان بن أبي عياش قال أرسلت إلى عبد الله بن عمر نسأله عن أي الكبائر أكبر فقال الخمر فأعدنا إليه الرسول فقال الخمر إنه من شربها لم تقبل له صلاة سبعا فإن سكر لم تقبل له صلاة أربعين يوما فإن مات مات فيها ميتة جاهلية
