Hadith 15:372
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from Maysarah, who said: I saw ‘Ali drinking while standing, so I said: "You drank while standing?" He replied: "If I drank while standing, then I have seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) drink while standing. And if I drink while sitting, then I have seen the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) drink while sitting."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن عطاء بن المسيب عن ميسرة قال رأيت عليا يشرب قائما فقلت شربت قائما فقال إن شربت قائما فقد رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يشرب قائما ولأن شربت قاعدا فلقد رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يشرب قاعدا
