Hadith 15:421
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Muhammad, from Umm 'Amr bint 'Amr, who said: Aisha used to forbid us from adorning ourselves with gold, or from repairing vessels, or from plating them with silver. We did not cease [in this state] until she granted us a concession and permitted us to adorn ourselves with gold. However, she did not permit us, nor did she grant us a concession, to plate vessels or repair them with silver.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن أيوب عن محمد عن أم عمرو بنت [ عمرو ] قالت كانت عائشة تنهانا أن نتحلى الذهب أو نضبب الآنية أو نحلقها بالفضة فما برحنا حتى رخصت لنا وأذنت لنا أن نتحلى الذهب وما أذنت لنا ولا رخصت لنا أن نحلق الآنية أو نضببها بالفضة
