Hadith 15:466
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Ali ibn Malik, from al-Dahhak, he said—once [he attributed it] to Ibn Abbas—he said: "The *nabidh* (date/raisin drink) is only that which, when it reaches [a certain point], it spoils. As for that which increases in quality the longer it is left, there is no good in it."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن علي بن مالك عن الضحاك قال مرة عن بن عباس قال إنما النبيذ الذي إذا بلغ فسد وأما ما ازداد على طول الترك جودة فلا خير فيه
