Hadith 15:471
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Mis’ar, from Ibn ‘Awn, he said: ‘Umar came to a people from Thaqif whose food had been prepared. He said: "Eat the tharid (bread soaked in broth) before the meat, for it fills the gaps. And when your nabidh (fermented drink) becomes strong, break it with water, and do not give it to the Bedouins to drink."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن مسعر عن بن عون قال أتى عمر قوما من ثقيف قد حضر طعامهم فقال كلوا الثريد قبل اللحم فإنه يسد مكان الخلل وإذا اشتد نبيذكم فاكسروه بالماء ولا تسقوه الأعراب
