Hadith 15:473
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Isma’il bin Abi Khalid, from Qurrah al-‘Ijli, from ‘Abd al-Malik bin al-Qa’qa’, from Ibn ‘Umar, who said: We were with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and a cup containing a drink was brought to him. He brought it near his mouth, then he returned it. Some of those sitting with him said, "Is it forbidden, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Return it." So they returned it. Then he called for water and poured it over it, then he drank it. He said, "Look at these drinks; if they become intense (fermented/strong) for you, then cut their strength with water."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قرة العجلي عن عبد الملك بن القعقاع عن بن عمر قال كنا عند النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأتي بقدح فيه شراب فقربه إلى فيه ثم رده فقال بعض جلسائه أحرام هو يا رسول الله قال ردوه فردوه ثم دعا بماء فصبه عليه ثم شربه فقال انظروا هذه الأشربة فإذا اغتلمت عليكم فاقطعوا متونها بالماء
