Hadith 15:84
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: 'Affan narrated to us, he said: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, he said: Ya'la ibn Hakim narrated to me, from Suhayra bint Jayfar, that she heard it from her, she said: We performed Hajj, then we returned to Medina and entered upon Safiyya bint Huyayy. We found with her some women from the people of Kufa. They said to us: "If you wish, we will ask and you listen, and if you wish, you ask and we listen." We said: "You ask." So they asked about things concerning the affairs of a woman and her husband, and about the affairs of menstruation, and they asked about the nabidh (fermented drink) of the jar. She said: "You have burdened us, O people of Iraq, regarding the nabidh of the jar. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the nabidh of the jar." "What is it to one of you that she cooks her fruit, mashes it, then strains it, then puts it in her waterskin and ties it up? Then when it is ready, she drinks it and gives it to her husband to drink."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا جرير بن حازم قال حدثني يعلى بن حكيم عن صهيرة بنت جيفر سمعه منها قالت حججنا ثم انصرفنا إلى المدينة فدخلنا على صفية بنت حيي فوافقنا عندها نسوة من أهل الكوفة فقلن لنا إن شئتن سألنا وسمعتن وإن شئتن سألتن وسمعنا فقلنا سلن فسألن عن أشياء من أمر المرأة وزوجها ومن أمر المحيض وسألن عن نبيذ الجر فقالت أكثرتن يا أهل العراق علينا في نبيذ الجر حرم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نبيذ الجر ما على إحداكن أن تطبخ ثمرها تدلكه ثم تصفيه فتجعله في سقائها وتوكئ عليه فإذا طاب شربت وسقت زوجها
