Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 17:1034

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Ibrahim, that ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab went out on the day of ‘Eid and passed by the women. He found the scent of a woman’s head, so he said: "Who is the owner of this? If I had known her, I would have done such and such [a punishment] to her. A woman should only perfume herself for her husband. If she goes out, she should wear her worn-out garment or the worn-out garment of her servant." So the women said: "She has risen from a state of ritual impurity."
