Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 17:1080

Waki’ narrated to us, from Fudayl ibn Ghazwan, from Muhajir ibn Shammas, from his uncle, who said: I used to go out to one of these graveyards to set up a trap of mine. I went out for three mornings and saw a man sitting in a place after dawn. I said, "O servant of Allah, who are you?" He said, "I am Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman." He said: I said, "What are you doing here?" He said, "I am watching the sun to see from where it rises."
