Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 17:1084

Abu Usama narrated to us, from Ibn 'Awn, from Abu Bishr, from Jundub ibn 'Abdullah al-Bajali al-Qushayri, who said: I sought permission to enter upon Hudhayfah three times, but permission was not granted to me, so I turned back. Then, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) caught up with me and said, "What turned you back?" I said, "I thought you were asleep." He said, "I would not sleep until I see from where the sun rises." He said: I narrated this to Muhammad [ibn Sirin], and he said, "More than one of the companions of Muhammad (ﷺ) have done that."
