Hadith 17:1090

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from ‘Urwah ibn ‘Amir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was asked about *at-tiyarah* (superstitious omens). He said: "The best of it is *al-fa’l* (optimism), and it does not turn a Muslim away. So if one of you sees something of that which he dislikes, let him say: 'O Allah, none brings about good deeds except You, and none repels evil deeds except You, and there is no power and no strength except by You.'"
