Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 17:1155

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hafs narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hasan and al-Sha'bi, that they both used to see no harm in advancing a hadith or delaying it. And Ibn Sirin used to take pains to [narrate it] exactly as he heard it.
