Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 17:1308

Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If the wealth of Bahrain were to come, I would give you such and such." Then I came to Abu Bakr and said: "Are you being stingy with me?" He said: "And what disease is more severe than stinginess? You have not asked me for anything except that I wanted to give it to you."
