Hatim ibn Isma'il narrated to us, from 'Imran al-Qasir, who said: Sa'id ibn Sulayman informed me, from Yazid ibn Nu'amah al-Dabbi, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When a man takes a man as a brother, let him ask him about his name, his father's name, and whom he is from, for it is more conducive to affection."
