Hadith 17:156
Abdah narrated to us, from Yahya bin Sa'id, from al-Qasim, that some men were forbidden from beating women. And it was said, "The best of you will not beat [them]." Al-Qasim said, "And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was the best of them; he would not beat [them]."
حدثنا عبدة عن يحيى بن سعيد عن القاسم أن رجالا نهوا عن ضرب النساء وقيل لن يضرب خياركم قال القاسم وكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم خيرهم كان لا يضرب
