Hadith 17:200
Ja'far ibn 'Awn narrated to us, he said: Abu al-'Umays informed us, from 'Abd al-Hamid ibn Suhayl, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Utbah, he said: A man from the Magians came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he had shaved his beard and lengthened his mustache. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to him: "What is this?" He said: "This is in our religion." He said: "In our religion, it is to trim the mustache and to let the beard grow."
حدثنا جعفر بن عون قال أخبرنا أبو العميس عن عبد الحميد بن سهيل عن عبيد الله بن عتبة قال جاء رجل من المجوس إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وحلق لحيته وأطال شاربه فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ما هذا قال هذا في ديننا قال في ديننا أن نجز الشارب وأن نعفي اللحية
