Hadith 17:237
Waki’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Hakam, from the son of Abu al-Darda’, that a man disparaged another man, and another person defended him. Abu al-Darda’ said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever defends the honor of his brother, it will be a shield for him from the Fire."
حدثنا وكيع عن بن أبي ليلى عن الحكم عن بن لأبي الدرداء أن رجلا وقع في رجل فرد عنه آخر فقال أبو الدرداء سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول من ذب عن عرض اخيه كان له حجابا من النار
