Hadith 17:247
Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from al-Harith, who said: I was holding the hand of Ibrahim while we were heading to the mosque. He said: So I mentioned a man and backbited him. He said: Ibrahim said, "Go back and perform ablution." They used to consider this [backbiting] as *hajran* (a form of foul speech or transgression).
