Hadith 17:288
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, he said: Hammad ibn Salamah informed us, from Abu Ja’far al-Khatmi, that his grandfather—who is Umayr ibn Habib—advised his sons and said: "O my sons, beware of sitting with the foolish, for sitting with them is a disease. Indeed, whoever shows forbearance toward a foolish person will be pleased with his forbearance, and whoever answers him will regret it. And whoever does not acknowledge the little that the foolish person brings will acknowledge the much. And if any one of you wishes to enjoin good and forbid evil, let him prepare himself to be patient with harm, for whoever is patient will not find the harm [to be]..."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا حماد بن سلمة عن أبي جعفر الخطمي أن جده وهو عمير بن حبيب أوصى بنيه فقال يا بني إياكم ومجالسة السفهاء فإن مجالستهم داء إنه من يحلم عن السفيه يسر بحلمه ومن يجبه يندم ومن لا يقر بقليل ما يجيء به السفيه يقر بالكثير وإذا أراد أحدكم أن يأمر بالمعروف وينهى عن المنكر فليوطن نفسه على الصبر على الأذى فإنه من يصبر لا يجد للأذى مسا
